Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered problems to water supplies, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, according to municipal representatives.

The strikes succeed evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

He said energy workers and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
