Norris Leads Oscar Piastri in Brazilian Practice Session
The British driver has beaten his teammate at each of the last five race weekends.
Lando Norris edged out team-mate and championship contender the Australian for the top spot in the closing stages of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who seized the championship lead from his teammate by just one point after winning in Mexico City two weeks ago, topped the Australian by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Earlier in the session, Oscar Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver throughout the hour before the sprint shootout scheduled for 6:30 PM GMT.
The Red Bull star, the only other driver in the championship fight, sitting 36 points behind behind Norris, finished in 17th position as his Red Bull team followed a alternative strategy.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the only driver to go off, albeit lightly, when he rotated at Turn Four during the early running.
Tsunoda spun out over the curbs on exit before sliding over the run-off area, and was blessed to escape with just a light touch of the barrier.
The Ferrari of the seven-time champion also spun, at the very end of the practice, spinning around through the quick descending corner approaching the final bend on to the pit straight.
The veteran ended the session in 19th place, just behind team-mate Charles Leclerc.
Norris and Piastri were well clear of the remaining drivers, with Nico Hulkenberg's Sauber in third, over half a second slower than Piastri's best.
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was fourth quickest, with Sauber's Gabriel Bortoleto ahead of the Mercedes of Russell and the Alpine of Pierre Gasly and Williams' Carlos Sainz.
