Recent details have emerged regarding the untimely passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles property on Sunday.

A Discovery

According to a report quoting a person close to the family, a massage therapist scheduled for an session initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the house. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

After gaining access to the house, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Following this, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, including the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently in custody and is ineligible for bail.

The confidential informant challenged several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.

Furthermore disputed widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "concerned" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Instead the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation also extends to descriptions of alleged "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. As stated by law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts indicated the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, some 15 miles from the residence. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would not be present until Wednesday or later.
